Premium Italian restaurant GIA Jakarta recently introduced its seasonal program, Taste of the Region. For the kickoff, in August 2018 GIA created seven a la carte Tuscan delicacies, with Bistecca di Manzo Wagyu as its star dish. Following up the hype of Tuscany charms, Executive Chef of GIA Tommaso Gonfiantini brings the beauty and richness of dishes from Sicily. Truly a distinct yet exciting region of Italy, Sicily is full of exquisite delicacies to be explored. With its variety of influences by Italian, Spanish, Greek and Arab cultures and excellent natural ingredients, Sicilian cuisine has so much to offer for the Italian food aficionado.
Serving unique and intense flavors of the largest island in Mediterranean Sea to your dining table, guests can experience the irresistible taste of Sicily from October-December 2018 for Rp 360,000++/pax for a 4-course meal. Each dish uses only the freshest and finest ingredients—some of which are directly imported from Italy to bring out the true Italian flavors.
The set menu starts with the Antipasti, Arancina al Burro. It is a starter in Sicilian way with Italian rice croquette filled with short ribs ragout, peas, mozzarella and mashed potato. The dining experience continues with a pasta dish, Tubetti al pesto Trapanese. It is a Sicilian variation of tubetti pasta with pesto trapanese (tomato and almond sauce), tiger prawn and real Italian cheese, Parmigiano. The main course is the Polpettine in Agrodolce, a Classic Sicilian meatball with a balance taste of sweet and sour sauce. The course ends with the Millefoglie di Cannolo, Italian interpretation of layered cake with crispy cannoli, filled with Italian wine, ricotta cream and raspberry puree in between.
