Foodies is coming back with its Jakarta Best Eats 2019, after successfully holding its first Jakarta's and Bali's list last year.
Serving as the magazine's signature event, the annual awards is created to appreciate not only the culinary creativity and excellence of the participating restaurants, but also the many talents behind it.
This year, they will award a total of 40 restaurants from 3 segments: casual dining, upmarket venues, and fine dining. These restaurants will be judged accordingly based on 4 criterias, which include their cuisine; service quality; beverages & wine list; and interior & ambience.
Each judge can only vote for a restaurant if they had eaten at the restaurant in the last 12 months. All visits were made without identifying themselves as part of the jury, and without any incentives or endorsements as part of the judging process.
The panel of judges itself will consists of 9 profiles ranging from various related profession such as celebrity chef Yuda Bustara, food blogger Hans Danial, and including publisher of FoodieS magazine Jed Doble.
An addition to the voting panel formed by Best Eats is a group of expert chefs named ‘Chefs Academy’, who will stay anonymous.
Determined to create an objective list of the city's best restaurants, Foodies in collaboration with AQUA Reflections wants to present them to motivate other public restaurants to improve themselves, and brings Indonesian's culinary quality further.
Restaurants can participate either through self-registration or public recommendation, which will then be judged by Foodies anonymously. The registration ends on March 30 with the Gala Awards Night following in April.
