Seasonal Tastes, the all-day dining restaurant at the Westin Jakarta is having its latest Korean culinary promotion from 4th to 13th October 2019. “Seoul Food” is the hotel’s third Korean food promotion, in conjunction with the “Korean Festival” in October. This time around the hotel took a different approach with featuring a home cook to present authentic dishes, featuring Sohn Ho-Gyeong & Park Yongmi, who will present their family recipes as part of their daily cooking back home.
Sohn is the wife of a diplomat that causes her and her family to travel around the world. During her husband’s assignment in several countries such as in Sweden and England, she cooked for the Korean community to gather them and it became favorites where she also cooked for events or community gatherings to keep them solid and stick together. She cooks traditional Korean food, especially her family favorites, ‘classic and modern’ legacy recipes of her mom. Together with The Westin Jakarta’s own Executive Sous Chef Denny Boy Gunawan, they will be serving special home-cooked dishes such as Mandu-guk (Korean dumpling soup), Galbi-jjim (Braised Short Ribs), Gajibokkeum (Seasoned Eggplant) and many more.
